Ted Sumner’s considerable business acumen both as a sales executive and business owner have taught him the immeasurable value that an astute and knowledgeable real estate professional can provide when one is embarking upon acquiring a new home. For that reason Ted has partnered with his wife Suzanne to form "The Sumner Team" ATX in order to make purchasing your new home or selling your existing property, pleasant, exciting and trouble free. Ted was born and raised in Northern California and was educated at San Jose State University, University of San Francisco and the University of Phoenix earning two Master’s Degrees and a PhD. His vast work experience began with a tour of duty in the United States Army, and then as a San Jose Police Officer serving in Patrol Division, as an undercover Narcotics detective and as a tactical SWAT Team officer. Ted then moved to the private sector where he amassed extensive experience in sales and marketing. Ted Sumner is also a highly respected martial artist having earned a 10th Degree Black Belt in Kenpo Karate. He has over 50 years of experience as a self-defense instructor and was owner and head instructor of San Jose Kenpo Karate for 25 years. In 2009 Ted Sumner created and instituted the “Rehabilitation Through Kenpo” program that serves as a physical and psychological therapy process for Veterans suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury.
